The Texas Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin restriping 290 eastbound and westbound starting the evening of Sunday December 15th. The proposed work is to restripe the shoulders into travel lanes in the portions with 2 lanes to be 3 lanes. Right turn lanes eastbound at Walmart and right turn lanes at Shadowglen Blvd. and Lexington Street westbound may be removed to become a through travel lanes. The extent of the restriping is from the end of the toll to FM 973 eastbound and westbound sides of the highway. Additionally, Lexington Street northbound at the intersection with 290 is proposed to go from 2 left turn lanes and a straight/right turn to a left turn, left/straight, and right turn only. This is to allow traffic turning right onto eastbound 290 to not be impeded by traffic crossing 290. The start date is subject change by TxDOT.
